Daraz, Visa collaborate to provide relief goods to 4,000 flood-hit familieBreaking

Pakistan’s leading online marketplace Daraz and global card payment service Visa pooled their resources to provide relief goods to 4,000 flood-hit families. According to Gwadar Pro on Sunday, the e-commerce company said that “Daraz and Visa leveraged their long-term partnership by actively participating in flood relief efforts in Pakistan”.

The two companies pooled their resources to assist flood victims through the Daraz platform. As part of the collaboration, Visa allocated Rs 22 million to procure items from the Daraz marketplace. Daraz managed logistical operations to arrange items at the cost price from its seller network.  It handled the logistics quickly, ensuring that all procured items were gathered from respective warehouses and delivered on time, Daraz said.


In addition, Daraz worked with various humanitarian organisations, leading flood relief drives across Pakistan to distribute these items to over 4,000 families, it said.Daraz is owned by China’s Alibaba Group. The company operates in a number of South Asian countries.Pakistan recently experienced severe flooding caused by heavy monsoon rains, which washed away villages and left millions in need of immediate life-saving assistance, as well as an increased risk of infections and drowning, Daraz said.
