Energy storage solutions draw attention at Solar Pakistan 2026Breaking

October 10, 2026

Solar Pakistan 2026 opened at the Expo Centre Karachi, bringing together more than 350 companies from 15 countries for a three-day run through October 11.

Among the exhibitors, energy storage solutions spanning commercial, industrial and residential applications are attracting particular attention as the fast-growing solar market in Pakistan is generating rising demand for battery storage, Gwadar Pro reported.

AC NEWENERGY, a one-stop energy storage integrated solution provider focused on the research, development, and application of energy storage technology, is showcasing its full scenario product matrix at the event.

The company maintains its headquarters and R&D base in Shenzhen, China, with products exported to Europe, South Asia and Africa.

CEO AC NEWENERGY Pakistan Leo Deng said that within roughly one year of operation in the country, the company has established a measurable market presence.

“We have achieved a certain level of market reputation and sales volume, which is closely tied to our brand building and channel expansion efforts, including participating in exhibitions,” Deng said, adding that local exhibitions consistently bring together industry peers and customers, and that each edition of Solar Pakistan has effectively generated sales leads and new channel partnerships.

Such exhibitions are also growing in popularity as demand for solar plus storage continues to surge in Pakistan.

Pakistan’s position as a major solar market is borne out by trade figures. In the first seven months of 2026, Pakistan imported approximately 7.2 gigawatts of Chinese solar panels, making it the second largest recipient of Chinese solar exports after the Netherlands.

Rapid solar growth is driving demand for energy storage, with lithium-ion batteries demand projected to reach 8.75 GWh by 2030 and 40–51 GWh by 2031.

Chinese energy storage products have become the absolute mainstream in the Pakistani market.

While Chinese finished products continue to outperform locally assembled alternatives in design, manufacturing, assembly, and testing processes, with quality and performance more reliably assured, Deng acknowledged that locally assembled products often carry cost advantages.

The Pakistani government has introduced its National Lithium-ion Battery Manufacturing Policy for 2026–31 that sets out phased localization targets, fiscal and tax incentives.

He indicated that AC NEWENERGY may consider local assembly in the future as part of its longer-term strategy in the market.
