The Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) has completed a new sports ground, aimed at providing football and volleyball players with improved and high-quality sports facilities.
The ground features spacious playing areas, adequate seating arrangements for players and spectators, a pavilion, lighting, and other essential amenities, Gwadar Pro reported on Friday.
These facilities are expected to offer local youth a better and more conducive environment for sports activities.
On the occasion, Director General of the GDA, Moeen-ur-Rehman Khan, stated that the Authority had previously finalized a comprehensive plan for the construction, expansion, and renovation of Senator Muhammad Ishaq Cricket Stadium, Baba Bizenjo Football Stadium, and Sorg Dil Football Ground.
The Director General directed the concerned department to extend full cooperation for the successful organization of the upcoming Sports Festival, ensure that all arrangements are completed in a timely manner, maintain the ground in optimal condition for sporting activities, and provide players with all possible facilities.
Later, Director General Moeen-ur-Rehman Khan also visited the Young Jan Volleyball and Futsal Ground and conducted a detailed review of the construction, expansion, and renovation works completed by GDA.
Project Director of the Old Town Rehabilitation Project, Mir Doda Khan Marri, along with political and social figure and President of the District Football Association, Mir Arshad Kalmat, were also present on the occasion.
During the visit, preparations for the Mir Kalmat Inter-Educational Institute Sports Festival 2026—scheduled to be held at the Young Jan Volleyball and Futsal Ground over the next two days—were also reviewed.
