According to WAPDA, the initiatives reflect its ongoing commitment to community development and access to quality education as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Resettlement and Rehabilitation Program under the Dasu project.
The Dasu Hydropower Project, being constructed by China Gezhouba Group Company (CGGC) with support from the World Bank, is one of the Pakistan’s largest hydropower initiatives. The project will be completed in two phases and is expected to generate 21 billion units of electricity annually once fully operational. Phase-I, with a capacity of 2,160 megawatts, is scheduled to begin generation by December 2027.
