Mobile Library unveiled at Pak-China Friendship School GwadarBreaking

The UNICESF’s exclusive educational campaign “Mobile Library” has rolled out in Pak-China Friendship School, officially known as “Government Girls Middle School Faqeer Colony, Gwadar on 10th December with zeal and zest. Pak-China Friendship School Gwadar has been selected as starting point for UNICEF’s literacy drive for children in Gwadar. More than 500 enrolled students are the first recipients of the campaign through which they get an opportunity to read diverse books free of cost, Gwadar Pro reported.

The Mobile Library will later go to other educational institutions in Gwadar. In collaboration with Government of Balochistan, district education Gwadar and Global Partnership, UNICEF “Mobile Library program” was inaugurated by provincial lawmaker Hadiath ur Rehman at Pak-China Friendship School Gwadar. During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, district education officer Zahir Hussain, district program manager Adeel Noorazi, former municipal chaiman Sharif Miandad, school administration, students were present in good numbers.

On of the main motive of the UNICEF Mobile Library or Book Van is to foster sense of book friendship among the students, give a boost to book reading habit and motivate students for conducting deep studies. Khadija Baloch, student of 9th class at Pak-China Friendship School Gwadar told Gwadar pro that on the first day, when she entered the Mobile Library or Book Van, she found many books that directly relate to their syllabus. “In Gwadar like remote settlement, UNICEF Mobile Library has opened a new world for us,” she added.

Pak-China Friendship School focal person Naseem Baloch praised the UNICEF Book Van initiatives in the school saying it marked a healthy study enhancing program. After staying for few days here, the UNICEF Mobile Library or BOOK Van will move to other more than 350 educational institutions in the vicinity of Gwadar. The move, approved by the Balochistan School Education Department, is a significant milestone in improving access to quality education for students in Gwadar.
