The Pakistan Navy has inaugurated Shifa Jah Hospital in Gwadar to expand access to basic healthcare services for communities living near the Gwadar Port area.
The health facility is a joint venture of the Pakistan Navy and the Gwadar Port Authority and is named Shifa-Jah Pakistan Navy-GPA Hospital.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Commander Coast Vice Admiral Faisal Amin as the chief guest, who formally opened the facility, Gwadar Pro reported on Friday quoting an official statement.
Located opposite the main gate of Gwadar Port, the newly established hospital has a capacity of seven beds and will provide medical services along with free medicines to patients.
According to officials, the hospital will offer a range of healthcare services including family medicine, a medical outpatient department (OPD), eye OPD, dental OPD, and a minor operation theater.
Information displayed at the facility shows that patients will also receive free medical consultations and treatment, free medicines, eye specialist services, maternal care and consultations with a female doctor, pediatric care for children, dental and oral checkups, general medical checkups, and 24-hour emergency services.
The hospital is expected to benefit residents of neighborhoods surrounding Gwadar Port, particularly communities in the southern parts of the city, by providing easier access to quality healthcare.

Gwadar’s healthcare sector has seen gradual improvement in recent years. The GDA Pak-China Friendship Hospital, operated by the Indus Hospital and Health Network, is already providing modern and free medical treatment to hundreds of patients daily.
The establishment of Shifa Jah Hospital represents another step toward strengthening healthcare access in Gwadar and supporting the well-being of local communities.
