NUST, Chinese Medical College Set Path to Academic Cooperation Under BRIBreaking

The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan and Chongqing Three Gorges Medical College, China have agreed to move toward formal academic collaboration following the participation of a NUST faculty member in an international medical technology program, the university said in a statement. The development emerged during the visit of Dr. Amer Sohail Kashif, an associate professor from the Department of Biomedical Engineering & Sciences (BMES), School of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering, NUST.

Dr. Kashif represented the university in a 15-day International Advanced Medical Technology Training Program hosted by the Chinese institution under Belt and Road Initiative, Gwadar Pro reported on Thursday. According to NUST, the fully sponsored program culminated in a proposal for a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the university and the host institution.

The proposed agreement would “open avenues for faculty and student exchange, joint research, academic collaboration, and enhanced Pakistan-China cooperation in medical education and healthcare innovation.”
