A high-level delegation of Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences, Balochistan, recently visited Shandong University, Weihai, China, to explore avenues for long-term research collaboration in fields of marine and environmental sciences. The LUAWMS delegation was led by Vice Chancellor Dr Abdul Malik, the university said, according to Gwadar Pro. Vice President SDU Weihai Campus Dr Xia Lidong headed the SDU team during a meeting with the LUAWMS delegation, it added.

The partnership aims to promote joint research projects, academic exchange programs and scholarship opportunities for Pakistani students to advance knowledge and innovation in marine and environmental sciences, it said. This collaboration will enhance LUAWMS’s research capabilities and contribute to addressing pressing environmental and marine challenges in the region.

The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to sign a Memorandum of Understanding in near future, the LUAWMS said. The delegation also visited Southern Marine Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory, Guangzhou, China, to explore avenues for research collaboration in marine and environmental sciences. During the meeting, both institutions reached an understanding to formalize the partnership by signing a MoU in near future, the LUAWMS said.
