November 05, 2025

The 2025 International Wuhan Intelligent Building Industry Expo concluded on November 2th after a three-day run at the China Optics Valley Convention and Exhibition Center, featuring innovative construction technologies from 13 countries with significant applications for international markets.

The event, organized under the theme "Develop the Industrial Internet, Jointly Build 'Quality Homes'", attracted over 200 enterprises displaying advancements across seven specialized zones covering construction products, design, materials, techniques, maintenance systems, urban development and international cooperation.

According to a Gwadar Pro's report, Special Representative to the Prime Minister Zafar Uddin Mahmood attended the concurrent International Cooperation and Development Conference on Intelligent Construction. He expressed strong appreciation for the technological developments.

"This exhibition demonstrates how human intelligence combined with artificial intelligence has transformed construction quality, speed and aesthetics," he stated during his visit. Mr Zafar specifically highlighted the successful implementation of Chinese construction expertise in Pakistan through major infrastructure projects.

He cited the PKM Motorway (Sukkur-Multan section), a 392-kilometer landmark project constructed by China Construction Third Engineering Bureau (CCTEB), as representing "one of Pakistan's finest infrastructure achievements, completed ahead of schedule with advanced features."

CCTEB, with substantial experience in Pakistan through projects including the Islamabad International Airport and the Centaurus Mixed Use Development, has contributed significantly to the country's infrastructure development while fostering local employment and technical knowledge transfer. Colonel (Retd) Zahid-R-Grewal, a Pakistani professional involved with the PKM project, emphasized the practical benefits of the technologies showcased at the expo.

"The integrated digital platforms demonstrated here can dramatically improve project efficiency and cost management," he observed, noting their potential application in future Pakistani infrastructure initiatives. The expo served as a platform for international knowledge exchange, highlighting how digital transformation is reshaping global construction practices.

The integration of smart technologies, particularly AI-driven systems and integrated digital platforms, has demonstrated new pathways for enhancing efficiency and innovation in construction projects worldwide, with particular relevance to ongoing infrastructure development in Pakistan and other international markets.
