The China-Pakistan TVET-Industrial Centre of Excellence (CPTICE) has announced the launch of the Sino-Pak “Guijiang Workshop,” which will provide 25 annual scholarships for Pakistani nursing students. The Pakistan Guijiang Workshop, initiated in September 2024 under CPTICE, will send its first batch of students to China’s Guizhou Nursing Vocational College next fall for a one-year study programme, Gwadar Pro reported quoting a statement of CPTICE. Upon completion, students will receive diplomas recognised in both China and Pakistan.
The unveiling ceremony featured addresses by Jiang Zhixia, president of Guizhou Nursing Vocational College, and Mansoor Jamal Butt, group head director of Fatima Memorial Hospital (FMH). Separately, Lahore’s Saida Waheed FMH College of Nursing said on Friday that, in collaboration with TANG International and Guizhou Nursing Vocational College, it held a ceremony marking the launch of the CNA (2+1) Joint Programme alongside the opening of the Pakistan-Guijiang Workshop for short-term nursing training.
Under the CNA (2+1) programme, nursing students will study for two years in Pakistan and one year in China, while the workshop will provide specialised short-term training with the support of Chinese experts. “These initiatives are designed to strengthen nursing education, enhance skills and promote international collaboration between Pakistan and China,” the organisers said.
