Abdul Quddus, a PhD candidate from Balochistan pursuing his studies at Nanjing Agricultural University, is skillfully blending academic excellence with meaningful community engagement as a member of Rotary International in Nanjing. His recent involvement in an educational initiative highlights how international scholars are contributing to local communities while gaining valuable experience for future development projects in their home regions, according to a report published by Gwadar Pro.
The 4th Nanjing Rotary Club Scholarship Awards Ceremony, held at Zhongqiao Primary School on Sept 24 and complemented by a public service lesson on cultural exchange, served as a platform for Quddus’s dual mission of service and cross-cultural dialogue.
Alongside club president Parveena Mungur and fellow members, he presented scholarships to the students for their academic excellence, significant improvement and dedication to community service.
Quddus further enriched the event by conducting an engaging cultural exchange session, introducing young learners to Pakistan’s diverse landscape, traditional cuisine, wildlife, and cultural heritage.
Children were particularly intrigued by the diverse array of animals found in the area, turning the classroom into a vibrant space for curiosity and learning.
“For me, service and education are core values,” Quddus reflected. “After attending several community events organized by the Nanjing Rotary Club, I was inspired by their tangible impact and decided to join this global family.
The experience has provided me with both a sense of purpose and practical knowledge in educational outreach programs.”
The Nanjing Rotary Club, established as part of the global Rotary International network founded in 1905, has consistently focused on educational support, cultural exchange and humanitarian initiatives in the local community.
The club brings together both Chinese and international members united by their commitment to community development.
