PCT&VI Gwadar, Wuhan Central Group sign MoU for vocational trainingBreaking

Pak-China Technical and Vocational Institute (PCT&VI), University of Gwadar (UG), and Wuhan Central Foreign Economic and Technical Cooperation Group Co., Ltd. (WCFETCG) of China signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in vocational and technical education under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Gwadar Pro quoting an official statement from UG, the agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. Manzoor Ahmed, Executive Director of PCT&VI, and the Chairman of Wuhan Central Group.

It aims to build a long-term strategic partnership to enhance skill development, promote international educational collaboration, and strengthen workforce capacity in the Gwadar region. “This MoU marks the beginning of a new era for the youth of Gwadar and the surrounding region,” said Prof. Dr. Manzoor Ahmed. “Partnering with a renowned Chinese organization will not only promote educational and technical advancement but also open new avenues for our students to gain international-standard training and employment opportunities.

Through this collaboration, we aim to produce a generation equipped with modern industrial skills capable of contributing effectively to national and regional development.” Under the agreement, both sides will organize educational programs, technical workshops, and training sessions, and will jointly establish “Chinese + Vocational Skills” training bases. These centers will combine Chinese language instruction with modern technical training.

The MoU also covers joint curriculum development, faculty training, student and teacher exchanges, and the organization of international seminars, conferences, and competitions. The Chairman of Wuhan Central Group welcomed the initiative, saying, “We are delighted to collaborate with the Pak-China Technical and Vocational Institute in promoting vocational education in Gwadar; a region of strategic importance.

This partnership aligns with our vision of advancing global educational cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and developing a highly skilled workforce ready to meet the demands of modern industry.” During his visit to China, Dr. Manzoor Ahmed also participated in a seminar on the “Digitalization of Technical Institutes in Developing Countries,” organized by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China.
