A Joint symposium on 'Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building" was held here on Wednesday.

It was organized by Embassy of the People's Republic of China and Institute of Regional Studies.

Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani was the chief guest on the occasion. It was largely attended by diplomats, parliamentarians,  members of Think Tanks and media-persons.

It was addressed by Liu Daxiu, Head of the Delegation & First-Class Inspector, Party Building Research Institute, Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee. 

Zheng Huan, Professor, Department of Party Building, Central Party School of the CPC Central Committee briefed the participants about the President's Thoughts on Party building also addressed and briefed the participants about the President Xi Thought.

Ambassador of China Jiang Zaidong. Jauhar Saleem, President of the Institute of Regional studies and Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Chairman, Senate also spoke on the occasion and lauded President Xi's visionary Thoughts and leadership role in bringing the nation to new heights.

The speakers noted that Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building originates from the scientific theory of Marxism, is rooted in fine traditional Chinese culture, and has drawn nourishment from the great practice of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in self-governance, self-cultivation, and self-strengthening.

The Thought summarizes and distills the practical experience of full and rigorous Party self-governance in the new era, said the report titled "Contemporary Features and Global Significance of Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building.

the Thought builds on and develops the Marxist theory of Party building, it preserves the theory's fundamental principles while deeply rooting itself in the great practice of full and rigorous self-governance in the new era, thereby achieving a new leap in the theory.

The Thought also carries forward and transforms fine traditional Chinese culture and reflects on and draws lessons from the rise and fall of political parties worldwide, according to the report.

It provides Chinese propositions and solutions for world political development in the era of globalization, and contributes Chinese wisdom and strength to humanity in the political arena, demonstrating a broad mind and a grand vision.

The speakers hailed the concept of “Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building” as “a milestone in the history of Marxist theory on party building and in the history of Chinese Communist Party building”.

Xi has developed the concept since the 18th National Party Congress in 2012 and it represents an answer to major questions, including how to build a “Marxist party with long-term governance”.

The concept would serve “as the fundamental guideline for strengthening party building in the new era”.

While praising the growing Sino- Pak partnership, the speakers noted that over the past 75 years, the two countries have forged an ironclad friendship through numerous historical tests, always respecting and supporting each other.

In recent years, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and Pakistani leaders, China and Pakistan have kept bilateral relations at a high level, and the building of the China-Pakistan community with a shared future has made solid progress.

As an important part of China-Pakistan relations, the CPC has maintained long-term friendly exchanges with various political parties in Pakistan, making contributions of the political parties to consolidating strategic mutual trust, expanding practical cooperation, and deepening the ironclad friendship between the two countries.
