Tree plantation drive starts in GwadarBreaking

February 12, 2026

Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) has launched tree plantation campaign on February 10 across the city in connection with the spring season. Around 2000 sapling will be planted under the tree plantation drive in different areas of Gwadar during the current season.

GDA Director Environment Rasool Bakhsh Baloch and Environment Officer Hamal Dashti told Gwadar Pro that plantation campaign will target the areas including GDA School, Syed Zahoor Shah Hashmi Road (Airport Road), Marine Drive, along with various city circles and other important locations.

On February 10, at the start of the tree plantation campaign at GDA School, students of the school, along with Principal GDA School Dr. Muhammad Muzaffar Noor, participated enthusiastically and planted various types of saplings and trees.

On this occasion, the principal highlighted the importance of tree plantation for making the city and surroundings green and lush, and for environmental protection, while addressing the students.

GDA has appealed to the general public to actively participate in the tree plantation campaign and not only plant trees but also play their role in the protection, care, and irrigation of the planted saplings.

According to GDA, in a coastal and semi-desert area like Gwadar, the biggest challenge after plantation is protecting saplings from grazing by stray and domestic animals, due to which plants and trees often suffer damage.

Therefore, citizens have been requested to cooperate in effective prevention of animals, protection of plants, and maintenance of green spaces so that the benefits of the plantation campaign may prove to be long-lasting and the vision of making Gwadar a clean, green, and beautiful city can be realized.
