The University of Gwadar (UG) began the Inter-Universities Sports Festival 2025 with a 6–0 victory over the University of Loralai in Quetta on, underscoring the city’s growing focus on education and youth development alongside its role as a strategic port, Gwadar Pro reported UG striker Jehand scored a hat-trick, while Sagheer added two goals and Amir one in the win at Ayub Stadium. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir congratulated the players and credited the university’s staff for preparing a competitive team.
Officials said the victory reflected Gwadar’s broader progress as a centre of learning and youth empowerment. Once known mainly for its deep-sea port, the city has expanded its educational and sporting institutions in recent years. Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti said the provincial government would continue to invest in youth programmes through sports to promote healthy activities and counter extremism.
