The University of Wah on Tuesday announced the establishment of a China-Pakistan Joint Laboratory aimed at advancing research in new energy technologies, marking a significant step in bilateral academic collaboration.
According to an official statement, the “Wuhan City (China-Pakistan) Joint Laboratory for Extreme-Environment New Energy Storage and Grid Connection Technology” was formally established on April 6, 2026, in collaboration with the School of New Energy and Electrical Engineering at Hubei University, Wuhan, China.
According to Gwadar Pro, “This landmark initiative is a major step forward in strengthening academic and research ties between Pakistan and China,” reads the statement and it add that the initiative aims to foster innovation in advanced energy technologies while addressing pressing global energy challenges, particularly in extreme environmental conditions.
The research facility will focus on critical areas including advanced photovoltaic and solar-thermal systems, high-performance energy storage batteries, and green hydrogen production technologies.
The joint laboratory is expected to play a vital role in promoting clean energy solutions, enhancing regional energy security, and fostering scientific innovation and knowledge exchange between the two countries.
