Karachi’s Malir and Korangi districts were hit by series of earthquakes over the past two days with a total of 11 tremors felt in both districts and other areas over a span of 48 hours. Affected areas included Quaidabad, Malir, Landhi, Sherpao, and surrounding localities where terrified citizens rushed out of their homes.

According to the National Seismic Monitoring Center, the first tremor was felt at 9:57 AM on Tuesday, with the epicenter in the northeast of Malir. The earthquake had a magnitude of 2.8 and occurred at a depth of 40 kilometers. In the late hours, calls to prayer were heard from various mosques and in most areas citizens spent the night under the open sky out of fear.
