As many as 15 shops along with goods were reduced to ashes and a vehicle was destroyed when a huge fire broke out in a market in Upper Dir. The incident took place in Dogadra Market, located in Upper Dir. A fire brigade team failed to reach the spot in time because the market is located in a far-flung area.
Later, residents of the area brought the fire under control on self-help basis. The residents demanded that the relevant departments establish a Rescue branch in Shrinangal and Kalukot. Earlier in May 2025, 20 shops were destroyed as a huge fire erupted in a bazaar located in Upper Dir. Soon after receiving the report, four Rescue 1122 fire tenders carried out the operation to douse the blaze.
