An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Thursday declared 18 PTI leaders proclaimed offenders (POs) in 10 May 9 cases.Those who were declared POs included Omar Ayub Khan, Shibli Faraz, Zartaj Gul, Kanwal Shauzub, Rashid Shafiq, Ahmad Chattha, Rai Murtaza, Rai Hassan Nawaz, Muhammad Javed, Chaudhry Asif, Bilal Ijaz, Shakeel Ahmad Khan and Muhammad Ashraf Khan.

Earlier, non-bailable arrest warrants were issued for them.  After the submission of a report on October 18, the court will start declaring these party leaders absconders. Fumed over the arrest of their leader, former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan on May 9, 2023, thousands of people had taken to the streets across the country. They reportedly vandalized government and army installations and, in some instances, set them on fire as well.
