Sheikhupura police have registered 182 kite flying cases and seized more than 10,000 kites in last seven days. In this regard Regional Police Officer (RPO) Athar Ismail said that kite flying is completely banned in Sheikhupura region. RPO Sheikhupura has directed the DPOs of the three districts of the region to crack down hard on kite flyers and kite sellers.

Basant will be celebrated only in Lahore on specific days under the proposed laws while a complete ban has been imposed in Sheikhupura region, RPO said. He said strict legal action is being taken against those who make, fly, sell and transport kites, metal strings. RPO Athar Ismail said a campaign to install free safety wires on motorcycles for the safety of citizens is underway.
