The Food department carried out a major operation against the wheat smuggling mafia in Karor Lal Eesan and recovered 40 tons of wheat at the Jharakal check post.According to officials,the wheat was being smuggled under the cover of cement bags when it was intercepted. The successful operation was conducted under the supervision of Food Enforcement Inspector Rana Abdul Sattar.

A truck used in the smuggling attempt was seized,while the driver was arrested and sent to jail after registration of a case.Food Enforcement Inspector Rana Abdul Sattar stated that smuggling of an essential food commodity like wheat was intolerable and strict action will continue against those involved in such illegal activities.
