42kg silver, 11 iPhones seized from passengers at Lahore airportBreaking

Customs officials at Allama Iqbal International Airport recovered 42 kilograms of silver and 11 iPhones from three passengers arriving from Dubai. The passengers identified as Bushra, Rizwan, and Qasim were taken into custody after their luggage raised suspicion during scanning. According to officials, all three passengers belong to Gujranwala, Lodhran, and Lahore. Customs authorities said some of the bags appeared suspicious during routine checks, leading to a detailed inspection that revealed the smuggled goods. 

All the seized luggage has been taken into custody, and an operation has been launched to investigate further.  50kg of silver recovered in Balochistan’s Pishin  In a separate operation on Wednesday, Customs officials in Pishin district of Balochistan foiled another major attempt to smuggle silver. Officials recovered 50 kilograms of silver from a vehicle at the Yaro checkpost.  According to Customs Inspector Taufiq Ahmed, the silver was being transported from the Afghan border city of Chaman to Quetta when it was intercepted.

The estimated value of the seized silver exceeds Rs25 million, officials confirmed.  The vehicle carrying the smuggled silver has been seized, and further legal action is underway following an initial investigation. Authorities say the operation was part of a broader crackdown on cross-border smuggling in the region.  Officials reaffirmed their commitment to taking strict legal action against those involved and to preventing the misuse of trade and travel routes for unlawful activities.
