Lahore traffic police have intensified their efforts to target e-challan defaulters, with significant results. Over the past three months, authorities have apprehended 78,809 vehicles for e-challan violations, amassing fines exceeding 26.2 million rupees. Traffic police data reveals that more than 54,000 e-challan defaulters have settled their fines, contributing to a total of over 24.8 million rupees in collected fines. The crackdown saw several vehicles with numerous e-challans—some even exceeding 200—seized from major areas including Mall Road, Jail Road, Main Boulevard Gulberg, Ferozepur Road, and Wahdat Road. Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore, Amara Athar, emphasized that defaulter vehicle owners will now be denied police services. She warned that only those who deliberately flout traffic rules will be exempt from such measures. Additionally, CTO Athar has ordered a stringent campaign against those tampering with vehicle number plates to evade e-challans.
