Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Punjab, Salma Butt, led a major crackdown alongside food safety teams in Ferozewala, seizing 80,000 kilograms of expired and foul-smelling frozen meat. According to officials, the unhygienic and harmful meat was found packed in sacks at a cold storage facility. A case has been registered and one suspect has been taken into custody.
Salma Butt said the contaminated meat was intended for supply to well-known food chains, marts, and major restaurants. She added that the facility was operating under poor sanitary conditions and in violation of food safety SOPs. Authorities have vowed strict action against those endangering public health and emphasized continued inspections across the province.
