Mirpur District Council and the Local Government and Rural Development Department on Thursday organized a rally to mark the first anniversary of “Marka-e-Haq” and Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos The rally was led by District Council Chairman, Raja Naveed Akhtar Goga and attended by Assistant Director Local Government, Raja Muhammad Ashraf, Chief Municipal Officer, Mughees Riaz, the district councillors and government employees.
The participants marched through various streets of the city chanting slogans in support of Pakistan, the armed forces and the Kashmir freedom movement. Addressing the gathering, Goga said the day held historic importance for both Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), adding that Kashmiris were observing it with “enthusiasm and national spirit. The speakers eulogized Pakistan’s armed forces and reiterated support for the country’s defence institutions.
They also claimed that Pakistan was fully capable of responding to any external threat. Goga said Kashmiris stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Pakistan’s armed forces and were prepared to respond to any “Indian aggression.” He added that the people of Kashmir would continue supporting Pakistan in safeguarding regional security and stability.
