Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Muhammad Khan has resigned from his membership in two standing committees of the National Assembly.According to details, Ali Muhammad Khan has formally submitted his resignation to the Speaker’s Office. He stepped down from the Standing Committee on Human Rights and the Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs.
Meanwhile, sources confirmed that National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has reached Parliament House to consult the Assembly’s legal team regarding the wave of resignations submitted by PTI members from various committees. This development comes a day after 24NewsHD reported that 18 PTI lawmakers resigned from National Assembly standing committees, following the instructions of PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, who submitted their resignations to the National Assembly Secretariat too.
Sources added that PTI lawmakers had representation in 34 standing committees. Barrister Gohar himself has resigned from four committees, including the Law and Justice Committee, Business Advisory Committee, IT Committee, and Human Rights Committee, where he also served as the convener of the IT sub-committee.
