ANF foils international drug smuggling attempt via sweet boxesBreaking

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) thwarted an attempt to smuggle drugs hidden inside sweet boxes bound for four countries, including the UK, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, and New Zealand. According to the ANF spokesperson, the operation was conducted based on a tip-off at a courier office in Karachi. Dozens of tins labeled as "Habshi Halwa" were found to contain cleverly concealed narcotics. Six of the 40 tins destined for Birmingham, UK, were found to contain 2.1 kg of heroin. Additionally, 1.4 kg of heroin was discovered in four tins bound for Colombo, Sri Lanka, while 3.6 kg of crystal meth (ice) was recovered from 10 tins en route to Hong Kong. Another 3.6 kg of crystal meth was seized from 40 tins booked for New Zealand. In total, ANF seized 3.5 kg of heroin and 7.2 kg of crystal meth, valued at approximately 9.55 million rupees. During interrogation, the arrested suspect revealed a large, organized drug network, and further operations are underway to apprehend additional members.
