The annual matriculation examinations have begun in Lahore. The first paper is being conducted on Arabic, Geography and History of Pakistan. As many as 250,000 candidates will appear in the examination and 880 examination centers have been set up for the candidates. About 26 examination centers will be monitored by CCTV cameras while Section 144 is in force in all examination centers.

No unrelated person will be allowed to enter the examination centers and only candidates will be allowed to enter after identification. The last matriculation paper will be conducted on April 16 of Punjabi and Islamic History.  The ninth-grade examinations will begin on April 17.
