Another owner of the collapsed residential building in Karachi’s Lyari Baghdadi area has been arrested, ringing the total number of arrested suspects to 10, police said on Monday.Investigating officer Inspector Zahid Shah confirmed the arrest of Taj Muhammad, one of the building's owners. "We have arrested another owner, Taj Muhammad, and will seek further remand of the suspects today," he said.
Nine suspects are set to be presented before a local court shortly for an extension of their remand. Earlier, the main owner of the building, Abdul Rahim, was already in custody.Authorities continue their investigation into the collapse, which has raised concerns over building safety and enforcement of construction regulations in the city.
