On the orders of the former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, the party MNA Yousuf Khan from Hangu on Thursday resigned from all standing committees of the National Assembly (NA).In a letter addressed to the NA Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the MNA wrote that on the instructions of his leader, he was resigning from two committees namely Planning and Development and Inter-provincial Coordination.
A couple of days ago, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had announced that it would resign from standing committees and boycott the by-elections, barring the one to be held in NA-129. First, Faisal Amin, brother of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, tendered his resignation from the Committee of Economic Affairs, Food Security, and Parliamentary Task Force.
A statement issued by the PTI stated the political committee thanked PTI founder Imran Khan for reposing his confidence in it. The statement announced that the party will take part in the by-election to be held in the NA-129; the seat that had been left vacant following the demise of PTI stalwart Mian Azhar.
