Pakistan Army troops are actively engaged in rescue and relief operations in the flood-affected areas across Punjab.Army personnel are relocating flood victims to safer places using helicopters and boats. Pakistan Army units have also moved affected people in Gujranwala and Head Khanki to safe places. The evacuation of people trapped in floods continues in Sialkot and Narowal as well.
Among those rescued are elderly citizens, children, and women. Pakistan Army, in coordination with civil administration, has also set up rescue and relief camps where essential medical aid is being provided to flood victims. The Punjab Police spokesperson says over 15,000 police officers and personnel are actively engaged in rescue operations across Lahore and other flood-affected districts.
For the safe evacuation of flood victims, the Punjab Police have deployed more than 700 vehicles and 40 boats. So far, the police have successfully relocated over 62,000 people and rescued more than 50,000 livestock from submerged areas.
