Asad announces upcoming meeting with JUI-F to form national unity agenda Breaking

March 08, 2025

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) central leader, Asad Qaiser, announced that PTI will be meeting with the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) next week as part of efforts to forge a united national agenda.  Speaking in an exclusive interview with a private TV channel, Qaiser revealed that the political leadership is now collaborating to form alliances independently, breaking away from the past practice of relying on agencies. Qaiser emphasized that this alliance is centered on the strength of Pakistan’s constitution and the rule of law, with a commitment to keeping institutions within their constitutional boundaries.

He reiterated, “The state is the institution of parliament and local government, the state is the people. This country belongs to us, and we want to see the army strong, but under the rule of law.” He further explained that PTI has already been in discussions regarding a national unity platform, stating, “We are creating a national agenda, and we will soon succeed in it. Our aim is to see all opposition parties united under this national agenda.”

Reflecting on the current political climate, Qaiser pointed out that after their unity meeting, PTI’s interactions with Imran Khan had been halted, but efforts towards opposition unity were ongoing. “We want to include JUI-F in the opposition alliance, and we will meet with them next week to discuss the possibility.” In a separate development, PTI Chairman Barrister Gauhar addressed concerns regarding anti-state social media posts by party leaders.

During an interview with a private TV channel, Barrister Gauhar expressed his respect for all institutions and clarified that he has never posted anything negative about the state or its institutions on his personal social media accounts. He assured that he would engage with former PTI Chairman Imran Khan to address the social media posts in question. “I was shown some social media posts, and I will talk to the party and the founding chairman about them,” he said. Gauhar also confirmed that the questions raised by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) would be discussed on the PTI platform.
