A policeman embraced martyrdom, and two others received critical injuries when dacoits attacked the security squad of civil judge Larkana Salman Mughal, in which he remained unhurt in Khairpur. The firing incident took place in Tando Masti area of Khairpur at the Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Salman Mughal was travelling from Sukkur to Larkana. The martyred policeman later identified as Maqbool Shaikh.
Soon after receiving the report of the incident, a heavy contingent of police from Larkana and Khairpur reached the area and started a search operation to apprehend the culprits. Later, the police shifted the dead body and the injured cops to Chandka Trauma Center. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned dacoits attack on a judge in Khairpur.
In his condolence message, Interior Minister paid glowing tributes to martyred policeman Maqbool Shaikh. He also expressed his heartfelt grief and sorrow over the incident. Mohsin Naqvi also prayed for early recovery of injured police personnel. He said that “his sympathies are with the families and heirs of embraced policeman during this hour of grief and sorrow”.
