A petition challenging a Balochistan High Court (BHC) verdict related to the forced disappearance of parents has been filed before the Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) on Wednesday. The petition was moved by Bibi Shukria, who has sought the recovery of her parents and requested the FCC to set aside the BHC’s decision dated December 16, 2025. The petition states that the parents have been forcibly missing for the past three months.
It alleges that on September 16, 2025, the parents of Shukria Bibi were abducted from Quetta’s Sariab Road area on the orders of an influential government officer. It further claims that despite the availability of CCTV footage, police have refused to register a case against the influential government officer, and no meaningful action has been taken so far. According to the petitioner, false allegations of Afghan citizenship were levelled against the entire family due to a personal vendetta.
The petition adds that, along with the enforced disappearance of the parents, the petitioner’s sister and her children were also unlawfully detained. The plea alleges that the family was subjected to torture and repeated raids on their homes and was forcibly deported, even though her parents had submitted written complaints prior to their abduction, warning authorities about threats to their lives.
The petition argues that the registration of a first information report (FIR) is a legal obligation of the police and that Supreme Court judgments do not allow law enforcement agencies to refuse the lodging of an FIR in such circumstances.
