Separate attempts to smuggle heroin to Birmingham and Jeddah were foiled on Thursday and one person was held. Spokesman of Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) said that 600 gram heroin concealed in leader jacket and packed in a parcel booked for Birmingham was recovered at GPO Islamabad. A passenger belonging to Sargodha and travelling to Jeddah through private airline flight from Lahore airport was offloaded and held after 48 heroin filled capsules were found in his stomach. The ANF spokesman said that separate cases were registered in both incidents and investigations were underway.
