The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore announced the 9th Class Result 2026 for the annual Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations on Wednesday, with around 53 per cent of students failing. The Secondary School Certificate (9th Class) First Annual Examination 2026 was held from April 17 to May 8, 2026. According to the result gazette issued by BISE Lahore, a total of 287,597 candidates registered for the examination, while 280,676 appeared.
Of those who appeared, 150,133 candidates failed, accounting for around 53.5 per cent of the total. A total of 130,543 candidates passed the examination, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 46.51 per cent. The Lahore Board said candidates who obtained 33 per cent or higher marks in individual subjects or papers were awarded the marks they earned. Candidates wishing to apply for rechecking of their papers can submit an online application through the BISE Lahore website within 15 days of the result announcement.
Students who obtained less than 33 per cent marks in one or more subjects, or who remained absent in the Part-I examination, may be eligible for readmission in Part-I, subject to the board’s rules. They may continue with the same combination of subjects or choose a different combination at the same or another institution.
