A trip turned into a crisis on Friday when a boat carrying 10 people capsized in the open sea near Manora, Karachi.Rescue officials said the boat was overturned after a ship hit it near China Port. Upon receiving the emergency call, the maritime rescue team, along with Edhi volunteers, rushed to the scene and successfully rescued 6 individuals who were struggling in the water.
These people were provided with immediate first aid and shifted to a nearby hospital. Four out of ten people are still missing, and the search operation is still underway. Rescue authorities have stated that the search for the remaining four individuals is being hampered by rough sea conditions.
Authorities have once again urged citizens to strictly follow safety protocols and wear life jackets while traveling in small boats, especially during periods of high turbulence in the Arabian Sea. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah directed the local administration to expedite the rescue operation to save valuable human lives. He directed Deputy Commissioner Kemari to send a monitoring team for the supervision of the rescue operation.
