Burn patients immediate, quality care is the government’s foremost priority:Mustafa KamalBreaking

A seminar titled “From Trauma to Recovery: Elevating Burn Treatment Standards” was held at the MCH Auditorium , where leading health experts, government representatives, and international delegates participated. The event was graced by Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal as Chief Guest, who emphasized that the immediate and quality care of burn patients is the government’s foremost priority and that all available resources will be mobilized to achieve this objective.

Speaking on the occasion, South African burn specialist Dr. Nikki Allorto stressed that adherence to international standards and the availability of trained staff are the true guarantees of success in burn treatment. Professor Dr. Abdul Khaliq highlighted the importance of establishing a Stem Cell Bank and Burn Center, calling it a milestone for the future of healthcare in Pakistan. The seminar was also attended by Professor Dr. Tanvir Khaliq, Professor Rana Imran Sikandar, Professor Dr. SH Waqar, and other senior experts.

Federal Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal formally inaugurated the Stem Cell and Skin Bank, while Dr. Muhammad Rauf Ahmed presented the scientific details of the project. Syed Mujahid Gilani, Incharge Burn ICU, discussed the practical challenges faced in burn units. The event concluded with an interactive question and-answer session followed by a hands-on workshop at the Burn Center, where young doctors and medical staff received direct practical training.
