Cabinet okays amendments in federal budget Breaking

The federal cabinet, which met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in the chair on Thursday, decided to get the federal budget for the next financial year (FY), 2025-26, passed by the National Assembly (NA). Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed the MNAs to ensure their presence at the NA session at the time of the passage of the budget. The cabinet was, on the occasion, taken into confidence on incorporating the amendments suggested by members of the parliament (MPs) in the financial budget. 

The cabinet also approved a resolution in which the role of Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during the recent crisis with India was praised. It expressed the satisfaction that finally, the tensions between Israel and Iran had lessened.  The Ministry of Energy’s agenda was also approved.  The cabinet also decided to give the power to determine the petroleum levy to the Petroleum Division.
