Captain Asmad Gulfam Shaheed, who had embraced martyrdom while participating in a rescue operation at Burzil Top a couple of days ago, was buried in Lahore with full military honour on Monday. General officer commanding Lahore, IGP, Punjab, senior civil and military officials, and a large number of people offered his funeral prayers.

On January 3, at 2:00 AM at night, despite severe cold, Asmad, along with his companions, was busy pulling a vehicle out of snow when all of a sudden, the captain and his two companions were martyred when they were buried under the snowslide.

By sacrificing his life, Asmad gave a message that the personnel and the officers of Pakistan Army were always prepared to lay down their lives in the defence of the motherland on all fronts.The entire nation salutes the sacrifice given by the martyred officer and his companions.
