Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Sohail Ashraf on Tuesday visited various parts of the city, including Babar Park, to review the situation following heavy rainfall and inspect arrangements for drainage, sanitation and keeping major roads clear. During his visit to Babar Park, the chairman inspected ongoing development, landscaping and renovation works and received a briefing from the relevant officers.

He directed officials to accelerate the projects while ensuring that the park’s green character, cleanliness and public facilities were maintained. The visit also included an inspection of rainwater drainage and sanitation arrangements at the park. Meanwhile, CDA sanitation and environment teams remained deployed across the city to remove rainwater, mud and debris from roads and other important locations. Officials said field teams were also working to keep major roads clear and maintain traffic flow during and after the rainfall.

Assistant commissioners and the additional deputy commissioner (general) also monitored the situation in different parts of the capital, particularly low-lying and other vulnerable areas, according to the administration. The CDA chairman directed officials to maintain continuous monitoring of vulnerable locations and ensure a prompt response to complaints and disruptions caused by rain. The field operation focused on drainage, road clearance and sanitation so that commuters could continue to use major routes and disruption to routine activities could be minimised.
