Civil society stresses dialogue to address core issue of Kashmir Breaking

The civil society in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has stressed that the Kashmir dispute is the main cause of tension between Pakistan and India and the  two countries should resolve it through a peaceful dialogue process to defuse war like situation in the region. 

According to Kashmir Media Service, the civil society members, including Dr Zubair Ahmed Raja, Muhammad Furhan, Muhammad Iqbal Shaheen and Syed Haider Hussain, in a meeting in Srinagar called for the restoration of articles 370 and 35A in their original form, an end to the atrocities and immediate solution to the Kashmir dispute in line with the United Nations resolutions. 

The meeting said war is no option which only brings destruction and which should never happen but in the presence of conflicts and tense situation anything can happen adding that dialogue is the only way to resolve the Kashmir dispute. They said that talks among stakeholders can bring peace while the use of force is a meaningless exercise.

“We reiterate that engagement and dialogue, and not force, among stakeholders is the best and the most peaceful means of resolution of the Kashmir dispute”, a statement issued after the meeting said. The meeting also expressed concern over the continued illegally detentions of Kashmiri political prisoners including Hurriyat leadership have called for the release of all political detainees.

The meeting appealed to the human rights organisations and all those people who have a heart to being focus upon the plight of these prisoners in jails and ensure their release. The meeting appealed to the leaderships of Pakistan and India to sit across a table and find an amicable solution to the lingering Kashmir dispute.
