Cloudburst wreaked havoc in Thor, some 15-20 kilometers west of Chilas in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), on Saturday as a house, cattle, a vehicle and a mosque were washed away by raging floodwaters. Not only that, floodwaters also washed away 200 grams of gold extracted through a gold placer from a mine.

In several areas water entered people’s homes and fields besides severing road connection between Thor and other areas. Locals were carrying out relief and rescue activities on their own till the filing of this report.
