Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif got detailed briefing on mass transit projects across province chairing a special meeting held on Tuesday. A feasibility study report of Yellow Line Mass Transit System was presented in the meeting.Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif ordered to start work on Jinnah Terminal to Harbanspora Yellow Line project as soon as possible. In the briefing, details about eco-friendly e-taxi project in Punjab were informed. The meeting gave in-principle approval of financial model of e-taxi. 

The meeting was agreed on launching pilot project with 1100 e-taxis and it was also decided to install solar power system for e-charging station. A report was sought on more routes for mass transit system in Gujranwala. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed to determine routes according to public convenience. The issues related to e-taxi project were reviewed in detail in the meeting.It was briefed that subsidy will also be provided by the Punjab government in the e-taxi scheme.  Proposal to set up charging stations with petrol pumps were also reviewed in the meeting.
