Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has instructed for foolproof security arrangements at bus stands, commercial centres and markets on the eve of Eid al-Fitr. On Thursday, Maryam Nawaz also ordered to deploy additional security personnel in markets on Chand Raat.

The chief minister directed to patrol women police squads in markets to prevent incidents of harassment. Maryam Nawaz ordered to ensure protection of women and children from incidents of harassment in markets at all costs. She directed to use drone cameras and night vision binoculars for surveillance in markets and bazaars.

She ordered to maintain strict vigilance on roads on Chand Raat to prevent one-wheeling. Maryam Nawaz also directed to increase security and patrols around ATMs and banks. The Chief Minister further directed to continuously monitor police and transport officials at van and bus stands. She directed to display fixed fare on windscreens of buses and vans.
