Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari has said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has permanently ended land grabbing across the province. Talking to media persons, Bukhari stated that CM Punjab curb land mafia in Punjab, particularly on properties belonging to the poor and underprivileged. She said the approval of the new Property Ordinance has effectively blocked the way for land mafias once and for all. Bukhari noted that in the past, land dispute cases dragged on in courts for up to 40 years without resolution.
Under the new ordinance, however, every case will now be decided within 90 days, ensuring swift justice for affected citizens. She said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is transforming Punjab’s governance model based on the vision of “The State Will Be Like a Mother,” where protecting citizens’ rights, ensuring justice and supporting the weak remain top government priorities. The Information Minister stressed that no one will be allowed to engage in illegal activities, display weapons or spread fear among citizens.
She added that under Maryam Nawaz’s leadership, Punjab’s new trend of good governance and rapid development has become a role model for other provinces. Uzma Bukhari added that CM Maryam Nawaz is launching new development projects daily to improve the standard of living for the people of Punjab. She emphasized that transparency, merit, and efficient use of resources have become the hallmarks of the provincial government under Maryam Nawaz’s leadership.
