A policeman embraced martyrdom while some armed dacoits escaped from the scene during a police encounter in Shikarpur. Sources said that police received credible information that some dacoits are robbing the passengers after putting a blockade on the road in the Mangi Laro area in the jurisdiction of Khanpur Police Station.

Soon after receiving the report, a police party rushed to the spot. After taking notice of the police party, the dacoits started firing. During heavy exchange of fire, one policeman lost his life. The deceased was later identified as Mir Mohammad Memon. Sources said that all the armed dacoits escaped from the scene. Later, the police party shifted the dead body of the policeman to the hospital.
