According to a spokesperson for the Crime Control Department (CCD), a dangerous wanted criminal was killed during a police encounter with Lahore police. The notorious criminal, Sher, was considered a symbol of fear in the area, the CCD spokesperson added. Acting on a tip-off, the team raided a location within the jurisdiction of Kahna Police Station hoping to arrest the wanted suspect. However, upon the arrival of the police party, Sher and his accomplices opened fire on the officers.

According to the spokesperson, She was killed during the exchange of gunfire by bullets fired by his own accomplices. The suspect was wanted in over 78 serious criminal cases, including murder, attempted murder, armed encounters with police, robbery, shop robbery, and vehicle snatching. In 2021, the suspect killed a citizen during a robbery in the area of Hair Police Station after the victim resisted.

In 2023, he shot and killed a shopkeeper during a robbery in Nawab Town when the shop owner resisted. The other accomplices of the deceased suspect fled the scene while firing at the police and a search operation is underway to arrest the remaining wanted suspects, the CCD spokesperson confirmed. Meanwhile, according to police reports, a suspect in custody of CCD Sargodha was fired upon by unknown assailants near Chariyala area of Kharian.
