November 29, 2025

Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Sarmad Saleem has announced that all bus terminals, including the General Bus Stand, will operate strictly under the supervision of the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA), reaffirming that no compromise will be made on matters against public interest.

The announcement came during a crowded public jirga held at his office, attended by MNA Ali Khan, MPA Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani, All Traders Federation President Sardar Shah Nawaz, former President Naeem Awan, officials from various trader organisations, Transporters Union Chairman Qazi Muhammad Farooq, President Jan Alam, and other prominent representatives.

DC Sarmad Saleem warned that strict action would be taken against any political, social, or individual group attempting to damage government property. He said the administration will utilise all possible measures to protect citizens’ rights and ensure uninterrupted public facilities.  He urged drivers to fully cooperate with the Abbottabad TMA. He added that the provincial government has directed all districts to transfer leased bus terminals to their respective TMAs.

Acting on these instructions, Abbottabad TMA has taken possession of the General Bus Stand, Mansehra Stop, Herno Adda, and all other terminals.  The Deputy Commissioner stated that transport services from Abbottabad to Rawalpindi, Attock, Muzaffarabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Hassanabdal, and other major cities have resumed as normal. He advised the public not to pay attention to false rumours.

He reiterated that the Abbottabad administration and TMA will continue providing services to passengers without discrimination. Anyone attempting to take the law into their own hands will face legal action.  DC Sarmad Saleem also assured citizens that any complaints regarding TMA staff may be brought directly to the DC office, where timely redressal will be ensured.
