The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday issued notice to director general immigration for offloading three people including a couple who were going for Umrah pilgrimage.IHC’s Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir heard the application and issued the notice. Asad Aslam, Imran and Ishrat Imran challenged the order of offloading them while they were travelling for Umrah pilgrimage.
Tariq Muhammad Khan Marwat Advocate represented the petitioners in the IHC, who told the court that when his clients reached the airport on June 18 they were offloaded on the wrong pretext that there was no hotel booking. Though, the petitioners had with them return ticket of a private airline and QR code of the hotel booking, the lawyer said. He further said that the airport staff misbehaved with his clients and offloaded them instead of confirming their return ticket and hotel booking.
The lawyer said that the staffers demanded bribe for clearing them for travelling. The court was urged to issue orders for granting permission to the petitioners for the their Umrah journey. The court was also requested to direct authorities to fulfil their Rs1.4 million expenditure, besides ordering a departmental inquiry against the staffers.
